ReelBuiltCo. Has Arrived

Some things you just can’t quit man. It all started with a website that won’t be named, then it turned into Beats, Beer Bonfires. After that, I decided to join forces with Raised Rowdy. After enjoying my time with them, I decided to take a break from writing. Now, 3 long years later, i’m back *insert the Undertaker gif here.*

First off, lets break down the name. ReelBuiltCo. What does that even mean? In the past, my entire focus was country music blogging. I’m not sure if you’ve been on social media lately, but that niche is absolutely locked down. I’m going to do the thing your not supposed to do, and mention my competition now. You have Raised Rowdy, Country Central, Country Now, Country Rebel, and CountryChord, just to name a few off the top of my head. If you want to keep up with whats going on in country music, go over there. I’m not going to be that. I don’t care who’s fucking who, or who got to drunk and said something they regret anymore. All of that to say, this isn’t a “Country Music Blog.”

Chris, you’ve now wasted two paragraphs telling me what this website ISN’T… are you ever going to tell me what it is?

Alright, no need to get so pushy… here i’ll tell you exactly what it is. ReelBuiltCo is going to be built on 4 pillars of my life.

  1. Outdoors
  2. Property
  3. Garage
  4. Life

Lets just do right down the list, starting at the top. One of the things that I’ve been working really hard on developing over the past few years is being a better outdoorsman. I started hunting since the last time you heard from me, and this year will be the first year i’m a full fledged ready to go hunter. I mainly am going for deer, but I have a lot for ducks as well. Hunting in Connecticut leads to some interesting challenges, but I want to show the world that even in the most liberal states, hunting opportunities can be abundent. There is more than hunting to this category as well. One of my goals for 2027 is to become a fly fisherman, so i’ll get to take you along on that journey as well, and all the successes and failures that come with it… so stay tuned. (And that is what we call a cliffhanger in the biz.) Other things include camping, hiking, kayaking, anything that I can do to get myself outside and in nature more.

Another level that comes with the outdoors stuff is just the education. I want to learn, and I want to pass on what I learn. It might be as stupid as why you shouldn’t touch poison ivy. Who knows, maybe i’ll become an expert in deer patterns. My goal is to become the most intelligent outdoorsman I can be, someone that can hold a candle to Steve Rinella.

The second pillar of the new website, property. This is the part where I get to tell you all about my endevor into becoming a homesteader. Now, the goal isn’t to be one of the crazy ones who only wear clothing they sheared from the sheep themselves. Listen, we live in 2026, we don’t need to do that if we don’t want to. But, I think its more important now more than ever to know where your food comes from. I have 10 acres, and I intent to slowly build that out into a self sufficient property. That doesn’t mean when I blow up, have 1 million followers, and make millions of dollars that i’ll be to good to eat a McDonalds cheeseburger. If thats ever a scandal, you guys totally misunderstood me. But shit, I can grow a tomato and eat that instead of getting one from the store. I can probably pickle some shit. Maybe down the road through a few goats on the property. I’m not going to dive head first into the live style, but I do believe there are a lot of things people can do themselves that they don’t. My goal, is to cut a lot of that stuff out and be as self sufficient off the dirt I own as possible.

Another part of this pillar is just whatever random project I feel like stuffing into this category. I gotta lot of trees I want to cut down… bam, property. I want to build a patio off the back of my house, property. Someday, I hope to buy more property, maybe with money from this website even (that’s a shameless plug right there.) Then i’ll have even more projects to throw into this category. Maybe I have a nice big 12 point buck on the property that I post a picture of. Who know, but property, am I right?

Pillar 3, garage. This is the pillar where I just brag about my shit. I have the same ole 2002 Ford F-250 i’ve driven since I was 16. I have a 2024 CF Moto 950 Sport 4 that we take up north and ride around with. I just purchased my official dad truck, a 2019 Ford F-150 Limited (not to flex, but flex) that I want to build like its a European luxury SUV. But, in all seriousness, I think this pillar has a lot of potential. Maybe eventually I can test new products, or talk about cool tools that make property work easier. This is essentially the “gear” pillar of the website, and I love myself gear.

Pillar 4, lifestyle. Ah yes, the most open ended of the pillars. I’m stealing this quote from somewhere, but this is essentially the junkdrawer of the pillars. Maybe I want to write an article about the New York Yankees, that is lifestyle. Maybe I want to talk about how i’m trying to be healthier, lifestyle. Maybe I want to write about World War 1… lifestyle? The thing that sets this website apart from the last few are that I want it to be personal. My goal isn’t to just get views, and then get more views, and hopefully sell the brand someday. Its my story, its my opinions, and its my brand that I want to be proud of.

If you can’t tell, i’m not a writer. I said “I” so many times in this blog that Harvard put me on a blacklist. I’m not good at writing for SEO (search engine optimization for you commonfolk) to get google to put my stuff at the top of there search lists. I’m going to learn. If I can get someone to laugh at my writing, and then learn from it, thats a win. I want to be authentic always. I’m not going to have AI write me the best article. That at the end of the day is why ReelBuiltCo is the name for me. I’m building everything. I’m building my homestead, my property, even my family. I’m one month away from leaving my 20s. I’m not going to try to be a cheap knockoff Barstool Sports writer like I was before. I’m not going to rank the 10 hottest females in country music, even though this articles always did numbers. But i’m married now, I have a kid on the way, i’m to old to be writing that stuff. But now i’m just rambling, the bottom line is my life is in a very exciting place, and I have a lot of “new” going on with that. So i’m excited to build a community to share that with.

Lets get after it!
